The Diploma of Sport & Recreation Management is for students who want to gain management skills whilst further enhancing their expertise in the fitness industry.
The learner group for this qualification are people wishing to gain a qualification in order to work in the sport and recreation industry in a management or organisational capacity. These individuals have a high degree of autonomy and manage the effective provision of services or programs in locations such as fitness centres, sporting grounds or complexes, leisure and aquatic centres and community recreation centres.
Individuals who undertake the Diploma will also develop collaborative programs across various health and wellness sectors. These individuals have substantial depth of knowledge to plan, conduct and evaluate advanced exercise programs using principles of program design, and progressed anatomy and physiology knowledge to support the delivery of functional, effective and safe exercise programs. They have knowledge of relevant local and national health networks, and the skills to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
The learner group are those who require a structured, classroom-based program with significant practical experience.

Academic Entry Requirements
Year 12 or equivalent and above.
The learners’ physical attributes may influence their ability to complete the training and assessment for this course. Assessment and training requires students to be physically capable of performing a range of fitness activities and using a range of gym equipment. Manual handling is also required.
Students need to be able to relate to clients of differing ages and backgrounds, have a keen interest to assist clients to reach their exercise goals, have good problem solving skills, sound literacy and numeracy skills, be enthusiastic, tactful, patient and have a sense of humour.
The course is aimed at students 18 and over.
